As dance is the language of the body, music is the language of the heart. A love of dance has made Betsy a strong dance
musician, playing fiddle in Irish, Scottish, and Swedish styles. For more information on her musical background,
see the link at the left.
As part of the duo "Drops of Brandy" she plays and sings traditional music from Scotland and the British Isles.
In addition to providing entertainment, she brings her extensive experience to playing for Scottish Country Dancing.
She has recently joined the ensemble "Mountain Laurel". This group of four diverse musicians plays and sings music
in harmony from all genres, the only qualification being that we like the piece.
In an effort to share the joy she finds in Scottish fiddle music, she founded and directs the Knoxville Scottish Music
Club. The club is now in its eighth year.
She also plays the Highland Bagpipes, competing at grade 4 level, and participates in the Knoxville Pipes and Drums.
